100 days of trumpery tweets

We are quickly approaching April 29, the day that marks Donald Trump’s first 100 days in the White House.

Despite he is constantly referring to the important 100-day landmark throughout the pre-election campaign, he said in an interview that it was an “artificial barrier” that people shouldn’t pay much attention to.
But I think it worths, because these 100 days will be labelled as worst on record.

And here is my reading on how unsuccessful his agenda has been so far:
No considerable improvement on any major legislation. 24 executive orders, 13 signed Congressional Review Act resolutions, a failed health care bill and a stalled wall.
Even the executive order on immigration is still stuck in the courts.
Worst administration management ever. More than 50 nominations were made in order to fill 553 positions of the executive sector and until Friday last week yet 90% are not nominated. But the rest 10% provoked scandals with major consequences.
Last but not least – the weak foreign policy. Is Trump acting as a globalist as he appeared when backing off his criticism of China or a protectionist, as he appeared to be when starting a trade spat with Canada?  Interventionist, isolationist or alternative?

Undeniable fact is that Donald Trump does not fail to share his thoughts on Twitter. The library of his moods, opinions, personal thrills and even diplomacy. He uses Twitter to break news, share his views and feud with critics and celebrities at all times of day or night. Lots of outbursts were read, but the masterpiece for me remains the criticism on
China for its exchange rate policy and its operations in the South China Sea. And few days after „I don't regret anything”.

As Seth Meyers said in his Late Night Show - “Trump is so ignorant that he’s ignorant of his own ignorance.” I found this quite meaningful.

*The idea of a president’s first 100 days comes from Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was actually referring to the first 100 days of a special Congressional session to fight the Great Depression.

* Trumpery has been in use in English since the late 15th century, and has been used, at one time or another, to refer to weeds, people, religious matters and generally worthless things in a broad sense.

Pinterest vs Facebook and Twitter

150 million users per months at least.  A quite impressive number for Pinterest. That means and increase of 50 million from September 2015, when visitors count was 100 million. So in fact now Pinterest might compete now with Facebook, Twitter and some other Internet giants.
Pinterest's ability to attract new customers in a digital world filled with applications that quickly catch people's attention, then quickly fall behind, additionally helps the website to gain popularity among advertisers.Just to remind that this company was established six years ago and last was estimated by investors of 11 billion dollars with the strong expectations to triple last year's revenue to 300 million dollars in 2016.While Pinterest is heading to its IPO, Facebook now has 1.7 billion users and has managed to attract more than 167 million new users since September last year. But against Twitter the company is growing much faster. Currently Pinterest is larger than Twitter in the US having monthly 70 million active users against 66 million users of the microblogging platform on 30 June. The market capitalization on Twitter worth 13 billion dollars, which recently dropped significantly and now is very close toPinterest’s market value.

Twitter in downbeat mode

On Tuesday the shares of Twitter (TWTR) tumbled to worst ever bottom at $13.90 which is 46.5% below its IPO price since the company became public in 2013.
Briefly the shares of the social network were traded at $13.90, but later the price rose slightly to a closing price of $14.01.
Thus, the market capitalization of the company tumbled to $9.7 bln against $14 bln last week – ahead of the financial statements for the first quarter release.
Last week Twitter reported a slowdown in revenue growth. Especially frustrating for investors proved to be the slower growth in advertising revenue. During the first three months of the year, advertising revenues increased by 37% to $595 mln. An year earlier was reported an increase of 48%.
Since the beginning of the year the company's shares are down by 40%  and this is almost 50% below the IPO price of $26. In December 2013, just a month after its listing, Twitter recorded a  peak of $74.73.
