After months of exchanging threats and
insults between the leaders of North Korea and USA, both sides finally met
today in Singapore. The historic summit continued five hours and ended with the genesis of what could bring more
substantive steps towards denuclearization. Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un signed a document, which was hailed by Trump as “very
comprehensive” but it does not go much further than existing
denuclearisation agreement. Much more
significant is that these two men met at all.
So in short here are the main points of the Trump-Kim document or the four pillars of denuclearization
So in short here are the main points of the Trump-Kim document or the four pillars of denuclearization
1. The United States and the DPRK
commit to establish new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of
the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity.
2. “The United States and the
DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the
Korean Peninsula.”
3. Reaffirming the April 27, 2018
Panmunjom Declaration, the DPRK commits to work towards the complete
denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
4. The United States and the DPRK
commit to recovering POW/MIA remains including the immediate repatriation of
those already identified.
Now everyone is rushing to join the noisy and loud chorus of congratulations to Trump. But he deserves congratulations you and for what ??? Actually Kim gave nothing he has not already given, and Trump, the great negotiator, gave everything and got nothing except a smile in return.
